As a 1st generation Immigrant, and coming in this country as an Undergrad Student in the 80’s, I’m thoroughly familiar with and have firsthand knowledge of the struggle of both the students and their parents in meeting their financial obligations and the hardship they endure.
Now, in my 60’s and 40 years later, I’m still dealing with the same challenges, but now for my children. I empathize with parents, who are like me, facing hefty educational expenses and how to balance their budget. It’s not easy, and I know the score. I have 3 of my own, pursuing university degrees, while one is out of university qualifying as an Attorney. But I now know, I have the faith and conviction of overcoming those odds.
Along the way, like lot of my fellow Americans, I have gone through the upsizing and downsizing, riding the roller coaster through its crest and webs of the corporate world, working for General Electric, International Monetary Fund (World Bank), Motorola, Caterpillar, and General Motors. I know what it feels like to have that last pay check, and the darkness after that. But we all, with that old American spirit, shake up our boots and march towards a better future. As baseball legend Babe Ruth said, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run” …and so we march on.
I promise you that given a chance and with your support, I can bring to bear my lifelong experiences to support our tax payers to balance their books and invest their hard earned dollars to better use. I will also lend a hand to our everyday small & medium size businesses to turn the wheels of our local economy which is a key promise of mine.
I urge and request you to entrust this old hand to be the caretaker of the County’s finances, and help usher in better tomorrow’s for us all, by casting your valuable vote for me.
Thank you all profusely and humbly ...Amin
